AI Enrich
AI Enrich is available on all Plans, but usage is charged separately.
Usage is billed per enrichment run. Each run uses 5 credits (1 credit = $0.01), which equals $0.05 per run.
AI Enrich helps you and your team save time by automating data entry and enriching your records directly within Close. Instead of spending valuable time searching for information like company size, industry, or LinkedIn URLs, you can use AI to find and fill in this data for you.
Understanding AI Enrich
AI Enrich allows you to request AI-generated values for fields on your Lead and Contact records. This feature uses the information from the record (like a Lead name or website) as context to search the web for the best data for the field you're enriching.
You can use it to find information like:
Company description and size
LinkedIn URL or X (Twitter) URL
Industry
Size of the marketing team
Go-to-market motion
And much more!

How to Use AI Enrich
AI Enrich is automatically enabled for your organization and works with both new and existing Custom Fields on Leads and Contacts.
Adding Guidance for Better Results
For the best results, we recommend adding "Guidance" to the Custom Fields you plan to use with AI Enrich. Guidance provides supplemental instructions that help the AI understand what information to look for and how to format it.
Best Practices for Writing Guidance:
Be specific about formatting: Tell the AI exactly how you want the response to look. E.g. List the city, state, and country, separated by a comma. Example: San Francisco, California, United States.
Provide examples: For more complex requests, give the AI an example of the output you want. E.g. Categorize the company's industry. The response must be one of the following: 'Software', 'Manufacturing', 'Healthcare', 'Financial Services'.
Tell the AI where to look: Direct the AI to a specific place to find the information. E.g. Look at the home page of the Lead's website and tell me if they have a 'demo' or 'signup' call to action.
Define a fallback: Instruct the AI on what to do if it can't find the requested information. E.g. If you can’t find a LinkedIn URL for this company, return nothing.
Reference other fields: Tell the AI to use other information on the Lead record for more context. E.g. Based on the Lead's industry, what is their primary business model (B2B or B2C)?
Custom Field Templates
When creating a new Custom Field, you can also select a pre-built option from our template library, which automatically sets the field name, type, and guidance for common use cases.
Manually Enriching a Field
You can run AI Enrich on a single field directly from a Lead or Contact page.
Select a field or hover over an existing field you want to fill.
Click the sparkle icon that appears.
The AI will search for the information and populate the field. Once the field is populated, you can hover over it to see the AI's reasoning and the source of the information.
Enriching Fields in Bulk
You can use AI Enrich to update fields for multiple Leads or Contacts at once from a Smart View.
Create a Smart View with the Leads or Contacts you want to update.
Click the Bulk Edit button and select Run AI Enrich from the dropdown menu.
Choose the fields you want the AI to populate.
On the next step, you have the option to check a box to Override existing values. If you leave this unchecked, AI Enrich will only fill in empty fields.
A confirmation will show the number of credits the action will consume. Click Bulk Edit to run.
Bulk Enrich Permission
The ability to run AI Enrich in bulk is controlled by user permissions in your Close organization. Admins and Superusers will have this permission enabled by default.
If you do not see the Run AI Enrich option in the Bulk Edit menu, please contact an admin on your team to have the permission enabled for your user role.
Large Bulk Runs
If a users runs a bulk enrichment on more than 200 records, they will be asked to confirm the number of records before the bulk action can start.
Understanding AI Enrich Results: Confidence & Reasoning
After AI Enrich populates a field, it provides feedback on its suggestion to help you gauge the quality of the data.
The Sparkle Icon & Confidence Levels
Any field last populated by AI Enrich, whether done manually or in bulk, will display a sparkle icon next to its value. This icon is color-coded to represent the AI's confidence in the accuracy of the information:
Green: High confidence
Yellow: Medium confidence
Red: Low confidence
Reviewing the Reasoning
To understand why the AI provided a certain value, you can hover over the sparkle icon. A pop-up will appear showing the AI's reasoning. This text explains what sources it used and the logic it applied to arrive at the suggestion.
AI Enrich Use Cases & Example Guidance
Here are some examples of how you can use AI Enrich to automate your workflows. Simply create a new Lead Custom Field and use the following text as the Guidance.
Find Company LinkedIn URL
Get the official LinkedIn page for a company to quickly access their profile.
Field Type: Text
Guidance: Find the official company LinkedIn page for this Lead. Return a single, valid, and clickable URL. If a high-confidence URL cannot be found, return nothing.
Determine Industry
Categorize a lead into a specific industry to standardize your reporting and workflows.
Field Type: Choices (with options like: SaaS, E-commerce, Marketing Agency, Consulting)
Guidance: Based on the company's website and description, classify this lead into one of the predefined industry categories. If the industry is not clear, select 'Other'."
Check for SOC II Compliance
Quickly determine if a company has mentioned SOC II compliance on its website.
Field Type: Choices (with options: Yes, No, Unclear)
Guidance: Review the lead's website for any mention of 'SOC II' or 'SOC 2' compliance. Check pages like 'Security', 'Trust', or 'Compliance'. If a clear statement of compliance is found, return 'Yes'. If not mentioned, return 'No'. If mentioned but unclear, return 'Unclear'.
Determine Go-to-Market Motion
Analyze a company's website to understand if they are product-led (PLG), sales-led, or a hybrid of both.
Field Type: Choices (with options: PLG, Sales-Led, Hybrid)
Guidance: Analyze the company's website to determine its go-to-market motion. Look for self-serve options like 'Sign Up Free' or public pricing pages (PLG). Look for enterprise-focused calls-to-action like 'Request a Demo' or 'Contact Sales' (Sales-Led). If both are present, select 'Hybrid'.
Check if a Company is Hiring
Find out if a prospect is actively hiring, which can be a strong buying signal.
Field Type: Choices (with options: Yes, No)
Guidance: Search the company's website for a 'Careers' or 'Jobs' page. If a page with active job listings is found, return 'Yes'. If no such page or no active listings are found, return 'No'.
Pricing
AI Enrich uses a pay-as-you-go model that is integrated with Close’s existing credit system.
Cost: Each AI Enrich action costs 5 credits.
Credit Conversion: 1 credit = $0.01 (making each enrichment $0.05).
Usage Balance: AI Enrich uses the same credit balance as your telephony usage, so there is no need for a separate billing setup.
