Give Close AI the right context to personalize onboarding, draft higher‑quality content, and answer questions with more accuracy. The Knowledge Hub allows Admins to add and manage trusted knowledge sources for your organization, starting with your public website.
Within your settings is an area where you add sources that Close can read and index for AI usage. Close will crawl key public pages and keep them indexed for faster, more relevant results across AI features.
This means your team will get:
Faster, more tailored setup during onboarding
Better AI‑generated drafts and answers
Smarter Workflows as we expand capabilities
Creating a Knowledge Source
You can add your website during onboarding or later in Settings > AI Knowledge Sources.
After adding your Knowledge Source, Close will scrape public pages and extract business details like name, industry, and a short description. You’ll see an indexing status on the source: Syncing, Synced, or Failed.

During onboarding, your website becomes the first source by default. It’s set to Public and Enabled.
Manage sources
From Settings > Knowledge Sources, you can:
View sources and indexing status
Edit a source’s details or temporarily disable it
Remove a source
Advanced controls (as available):
Included paths and Excluded paths to fine‑tune what’s indexed
Access designation for future source types (Public vs Internal)
Data handling and privacy
Only publicly accessible content is crawled for URL sources. Indexed content is stored so Close AI can search and reference it while assisting you.
Troubleshooting
URL unreachable
Check that the site is public and the URL is correct, then try again.
Indexing taking too long
Large or complex sites can take longer. Narrow the scope with included or excluded paths if available.
Incorrect business details
Review and edit during onboarding, or update your site and re‑run indexing later.
No website
Proceed without one. You can provide basics during onboarding and add a source later.
