Tasks not syncing with Google Calendar

Why Can’t I See My Close Tasks in Google Calendar?

If you previously subscribed to your Close Tasks Calendar via Google Calendar, you may have noticed that your tasks are no longer syncing. This is because Close has sunset this feature due to security concerns. While discussions are ongoing about implementing a more secure solution in the future, you can use Zapier as a workaround to sync your Close Tasks with Google Calendar.

How to Sync Close Tasks with Google Calendar Using Zapier

Zapier allows you to automate workflows between Close and Google Calendar. By setting up a simple Zap, you can ensure that new tasks in Close are automatically added to your calendar.

Step 1: Create a Zapier Account (If You Haven't Already)

  • Go to Zapier and sign up or log in to your account.

Step 2: Set Up a Trigger in Zapier

  • Click Create Zap.
  • In the Trigger section, search for "Close."
  • Select New Task as the trigger event.
  • Connect your Close account.
  • Test the trigger to ensure Zapier can retrieve your tasks.

Step 3: Set Up an Action to Create an Event in Google Calendar

  • In the Action section, search for "Google Calendar."
  • Select Create Detailed Event as the action event.
  • Connect your Google Calendar account.
  • Customize the event details:
  • Summary: Use the task title from Close.
  • Description: Add task notes or relevant details.
  • Start & End Time: Set based on your preferences (e.g., due date in Close).
  • Calendar: Choose the correct Google Calendar to sync with.
  • Test the action to verify that events are being created correctly.

Step 4: Turn on Your Zap

  • Once you've tested the workflow, click Publish Zap.
  • Your Close Tasks will now automatically sync with Google Calendar whenever a new task is created.
